27% of web visitors experience little or no success

In the January 2010 WeBenchmark survey of B2B software websites, 27% of visitors across all participating websites stated upon exiting that they with today's visit had experienced little or no success.

The WeBenchmark Website Effectiveness Survey consists of eight questions that visitors are invited to answer upon completion of their website visit. Two of the eight questions form the foundation of what we call the success metric:

Question 1

Q1: For what reason(s) do you visit www.domain.com today?

Explanation to questions 1: Required response multi-select question. B2B software industry specific answer alternatives. Answer alternatives randomized to avoid respondent bias.

Question 2

To what extent have you successfully completed your visit with respect to your reason(s) for visiting the web site?

Explanation to question 2: Required response rating question. Shows only answer alternatives selected in question 1. Each reason for visiting is rated on a scale from 1 to 10.
